Aircraft

Iraqi Airways operates a balanced fleet of 40 aircraft divided into three main categories. Narrow-body aircraft, including the Airbus A320 and A321, form the backbone of regional and short- to medium-haul services, offering good fuel efficiency and passenger capacity for domestic routes and nearby international destinations. Wide-body long-haul aircraft such as the Boeing 777, Boeing 787, and Airbus A330 enable the airline to serve distant markets and provide premium cabin configurations for intercontinental operations.
The fleet also includes regional turboprops and regional jets-the Bombardier Q300 and Bombardier CRJ900-for shorter routes with lower traffic volumes. These aircraft optimize cost-efficiency on thinner regional markets while maintaining service frequency. This diverse composition allows Iraqi Airways flexibility to match aircraft size and capability to route demand, supporting both hub connectivity and point-to-point services across its 45-destination network.
