Alaska Airlines operates a modern, mixed-fleet strategy balancing efficiency with regional reach. The fleet includes narrow-body jets (Airbus A320, A321, A321neo, and Boeing 737 aircraft) for high-frequency domestic and short-haul international routes. These single-aisle aircraft serve the airline's largest volume of passengers on popular city-pair routes across North America.
Regional aircraft (Embraer E-175 and Bombardier DHC-8-400Q Dash 8 turboprops) enable service to smaller airports and lower-traffic routes, extending the network to communities that cannot sustain mainline jet service. The E-175 bridges capacity and range between turboprops and jets. Total fleet size stands at 342 aircraft, supporting operations across 128 destinations.
