Binter Canarias (NT/IBB) is Spain's regional carrier and the only airline serving all eight Canary Islands airports. Founded in 1989, it operates inter-island and mainland flights with a modern fleet of ATR and Embraer aircraft from hubs in Las Palmas, Tenerife, and Santa Cruz de La Palma.
Fleet
Binter Canarias (IATA: NT, ICAO: IBB) was founded on 18 February 1988 and commenced operations on 26 March 1989. Today it is Spain's primary regional carrier and the only airline connecting all eight airports across the Canary Islands archipelago, making it essential infrastructure for inter-island travel.
The airline operates from three main hubs: Las Palmas, Santa Cruz de La Palma, and Tenerife (with headquarters also based at Tenerife North Airport/San Cristóbal de La Laguna). Its network extends beyond the islands to mainland Spain, Portugal, and African destinations including Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, and Cabo Verde, positioning Binter Canarias as a regional bridge carrier in southwestern Atlantic aviation.
The fleet consists of 42 aircraft, primarily ATR 72 turboprops and Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jets, supplemented by Embraer E-195 equipment. This mix of aircraft types enables efficient service on short inter-island routes as well as longer regional connections. Binter Canarias operates the frequent-flyer programme BinterMás and owns subsidiaries Canarias Airlines (Canair) and Naysa Servicios Aéreos.
