Express Air fleet

Express Air operated a mixed fleet designed for regional service across East Indonesia:

ATR 42: Twin-engine turboprops optimized for short-haul regional routes, particularly suited to smaller regional airports with limited runway infrastructure. These aircraft typically carried 40–50 passengers and provided efficient operations on lower-demand routes connecting smaller cities.

Boeing 737: Single-aisle narrow-body jets used on higher-capacity regional routes. The 737 family enabled Express Air to serve busier regional corridors and longer distances while maintaining fuel efficiency compared to larger wide-body aircraft.

This combination of turboprops and jets was typical for Indonesian regional carriers, balancing operational flexibility with passenger capacity across varied route networks.
