How online check-in works
Online check-in opens 36 hours before departure (24 hours for flights to the United States). Check in via www.finnair.com, the Finnair app, or airport self-service kiosks using your booking reference and family name. There are no online check-in fees.
- Visit the Finnair website or app at least 24 hours before departure
- Enter your booking reference and surname
- Select seats and confirm special requests (meals, wheelchair assistance, etc.)
- Receive your boarding pass digitally or print it at an airport kiosk
Practical tip: Check in as early as possible to secure preferred seating and avoid last-minute queues. Online check-in closes 45–75 minutes before departure, depending on your destination.
At Helsinki-Vantaa Airport: Check in at desk 2.5 hours before your first flight. Self-service bag drop is available 24 hours in advance. If you are departing the next day, you can check in at the airport the evening before.
