Freebird Airlines (IATA: FH, ICAO: FHY) is a Turkish carrier established in 2000 and commenced operations on 5 April 2001. The airline operates a fleet of 14 Airbus A320 aircraft, configured for short- and medium-haul routes. Based in Turkey and Malta, Freebird serves over 100 destinations primarily across Europe, combining scheduled and charter flight services.
The airline maintains two main hubs: Antalya Airport and Istanbul Atatürk Airport, with additional operating bases at Bodrum Airport and Dalaman Airport. This network positions Freebird as a key carrier for European leisure travel to Mediterranean destinations, particularly serving Turkish coastal regions and holiday markets.
Freebird holds significant safety and operational credentials. In 2002, it became the first Turkish airline to receive ISO 9001:2000 certification. Four years later, in 2006, it earned IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration as the first Turkish charter airline to achieve this standard. The airline expanded internationally through its Malta-based subsidiary, Freebird Airlines Europe, established in 2019. The carrier is owned by Gözen Holding.
