Fleet
Lufthansa CityLine (IATA: CL, ICAO: CLH) was a regional airline wholly owned by the Lufthansa Group. Founded in 1958 as Ostfriesische Lufttaxi, it evolved into a key regional carrier for the German aviation market, operating from multiple hubs including Cologne Bonn Airport, Frankfurt, and Munich. The airline ceased all operations on 18 April 2026, concluding nearly seven decades of regional service.
Throughout its operational history, Lufthansa CityLine maintained an extensive network across Europe, connecting regional cities with major hubs. As a Star Alliance member from 1997 to 2026, it provided seamless connections for passengers traveling on Lufthansa and partner airlines. The airline's route network emphasized efficiency and reliability on routes where regional aircraft proved most economical.
The fleet comprised modern regional turboprops and jets, including Airbus A319, Embraer E-190 and E-195 aircraft, and Bombardier CRJ900 turboprops. This mix of aircraft allowed Lufthansa CityLine to serve diverse route requirements, from high-frequency city pairs to thinner regional markets, supporting the broader Lufthansa Group network strategy.
