Pacific Island Seaplanes was established in 1999 as a specialized air charter operator serving the Fiji islands and surrounding region. The airline was headquartered in Namaka, Fiji, with its main hub at Nadi International Airport, the country's principal aviation gateway.
The carrier operated a mixed fleet of seaplanes and helicopters tailored to the demands of inter-island travel and remote destinations across the South Pacific. This combination of aircraft types-including the Eurocopter AS350 and AS355 helicopters, alongside the Britten-Norman Islander and de Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter seaplanes-allowed Pacific Island Seaplanes to access airstrips and water landing zones unavailable to conventional fixed-wing operators.
After more than two decades of service, Pacific Island Seaplanes ceased operations in 2025. The airline had provided charter flights for tourists, business travelers, and regional connections throughout its operational history, serving a niche but important role in Fiji's aviation network.
