Air Austral fleet

Aircraft

Air Austral operates a modern, mixed fleet of eight aircraft suited to both regional and long-haul operations. The fleet comprises three aircraft families:

Airbus A220 and Boeing 737 serve the backbone of regional services within the Indian Ocean, connecting Réunion to nearby islands and regional hubs with efficient, fuel-economical operations. The Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 provide long-haul capacity for intercontinental routes to Europe, Africa, and Asia, offering enhanced passenger comfort and cargo capability. The ATR 72 turboprop supports smaller regional feeder routes where turboprop efficiency is advantageous. This fleet mix allows Air Austral to optimise route economics and serve both point-to-point and hub-and-spoke networks effectively.
