About the airline

Avianca is Colombia's flag carrier and one of the world's oldest airlines, flying since 1940 (with roots back to 1919). From its hub at El Dorado Airport in Bogotá it serves destinations across the Americas and Europe as a Star Alliance member.

Fleet

Avianca (IATA: AV, ICAO: AVA) is the flag carrier of Colombia and the second-oldest airline in the world by heritage - its predecessor SCADTA first flew in 1919. Today it is the core of the Avianca Group, connecting Bogotá's El Dorado International Airport with cities across South, Central and North America and Europe.

A Star Alliance member, Avianca has restructured into a low-cost-oriented model with tiered fares, while keeping a wide-body fleet for international routes. Its LifeMiles program is one of Latin America's largest loyalty schemes.
