How online check-in works
Online check-in opens 24 hours before your flight departure and closes 1 hour before scheduled takeoff. It is available through the JAL website (jal.co.jp) or the official mobile app, completely free of charge. Passengers receive either a digital boarding pass (viewable on mobile devices) or a printable version, both accepted at the airport.
Check-in steps:
- Visit jal.co.jp or open the JAL mobile app
- Enter your booking reference and passenger name
- Select your seat (if not pre-assigned)
- Review baggage information and declare any special items
- Complete the process and save or print your boarding pass
Tip: Complete online check-in as close to the 24-hour window as possible to secure preferred seating and minimize last-minute delays.
