Air India

Air India (IATA: AI, ICAO: AIC) is the flag carrier of India, founded in 1932 and now majority-owned by the Tata Group (74.9%) with Singapore Airlines holding a 25.1% stake as of 2022. Headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana, the airline serves as a key link between India and the world, operating 87 destinations across 44 domestic and 42 international routes in 32 countries.

The airline's main hub is Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. Air India joined Star Alliance in July 2014, giving passengers access to a global network of partner carriers. It is also the second-largest airline in India by passenger volume and operates the subsidiary Air India Express, which focuses on domestic and Asian destinations with a more economy-oriented model.

Air India's fleet comprises modern wide-body and narrow-body aircraft, including the Airbus A319, A320, A321, and A350, alongside Boeing 747, 777, and 787 aircraft. This mix enables the carrier to deploy efficient narrow-body jets on short-haul and domestic routes while using large wide-bodies for long-haul international services to North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions.
