AirKenya's fleet consists of two modern turboprop aircraft families, each serving distinct operational roles in regional aviation.
The De Havilland Canada Dash 8 forms the backbone of AirKenya's regional network. This twin-turboprop aircraft carries up to 50 passengers and operates on routes of 500–1,500 kilometers, balancing capacity with fuel efficiency. It is suitable for semi-prepared airstrips and provides the reliability required for East African operations.
The Cessna 208 is a single-engine turboprop designed for smaller routes and lighter loads. With capacity for approximately 14 passengers, it accesses remote airstrips and delivers essential connectivity to destinations where larger aircraft cannot operate economically. Both aircraft types are proven in African aviation and require minimal ground infrastructure.
